Kisii University was a warded university status in 2013 the college was formerly used as Primary Teachers Training College from 1965 the year which it was established and Secondary Teachers' College from 1983. In 1994 it was renamed Egerton Campus. It became a constituent of Egerton University under the name Kisii University College in 2007. Main Campus, Kisii Town Campus.
