Meru University of Science and Technology was established in 2008 and awarded university status in 2013. The (MECOTECH)Meru College of Technology as it was known in (1979) was renamed to (MUCST)Meru University College of Science and Technology in 2008 after receiving its university status. MUST Main Campus is in Meru.
